OSCommerce Installation Guide-Merchant v2.2 RC2a

This is a step-by-step installation guide to oscommerce Merchant v2.2 RC2a. I found the documentation.pdf was not accurate for the oscommerce options and the steps to installing it. I also found some errors that I had to fix. Hope this will be of some help to others.

Step 1: osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a

Here is the first step. In your browser go to:
http://yourdomain.com/catalog/install

for me I placed it in my client’s subdomain:
http://asset-protection-book.ultratrust.com/install

Step 2: osCommerce enter database fields

You have to first set up your database and username and don’t forget to associate the username with the database. I’ll explain that in another tutorial. I have cPanel so it’s quite easy but if you have your own linux box then the command line of setting up your database and username is not too difficult. I’ll create a tutorial for that later too.
