osCommerce: Create Account Success: Modify / Change Page

How to change the text once a potential customer or visiting customer creates an account. The text of the accounts page in osCommerce needed some modification so this is just a short tutorial.

osCommerce Create Accounts Success page default

osCommerce Create Accounts Success page default

Find the file ‘create_account_success.php’ located in the folder ‘includes/languages/english/’.

Find this part of the code:

define('TEXT_ACCOUNT_CREATED', 'Congratulations! Your new account has been successfully created! You can now take advantage of member priviledges to enhance your online shopping experience with us. If you have ANY questions about the operation of this online shop, please email the store owner.

A confirmation has been sent to the provided email address. If you have not received it within the hour, please contact us.');

I changed the above code to this:

define('TEXT_ACCOUNT_CREATED', 'Congratulations! Your new account has been successfully created! If you have ANY questions, please email us via the Contact Us form.

A confirmation has been sent to the provided email address. If you have not received it within the hour, please contact us.

Remove the surfboard image from the Create Account Success page of osCommerce

The image to remove is called ‘table_background_man_on_board.gif’.

Look for the file ‘create_account_success.php’ in root folder where osCommerce was installed.

Then look for this code:

tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_man_on_board.gif', HEADING_TITLE);

Simply comment out the echo statement like so:

//echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_man_on_board.gif', HEADING_TITLE);
