Yum Lock

If you receive a message that your yum is locked and some pid is running then try this:

ps aux | grep yum

[root@seokingdomheaven seokingdomheaven]# ps aux | grep yum
root 3402 0.0 0.5 257604 16192 ? SN Dec27 0:01 /usr/bin/python -tt /usr/sbin/yum-updatesd

Notice the:
/usr/sbin/yum-updatesd

The run this linux command:
service yum-updatesd stop

[root@seokingdomheaven seokingdomheaven]# service yum-updatesd stop
Stopping yum-updatesd: [ OK ]

Then check if yum-updatesd is stopped:
service yum-updatesd status

[root@seokingdomheaven seokingdomheaven]# service yum-updatesd status
yum-updatesd is stopped

Try running:
ps aux | grep yum

[root@seokingdomheaven seokingdomheaven]# ps aux | grep yum
root 12670 0.0 0.0 61184 744 pts/1 S+ 11:27 0:00 grep yum
